What the Heart Remembers

I wander again through the places I knew,

Tracing the paths where my old footsteps grew.

Each place I have been whispers my name,

Echoes of laughter, shadows of flame.

Yet now I reach for what I once could not see—

New joys to discover, new places to be,

The treasures of memory, gentle and kind,

Held softly, like whispers that linger in my mind

One day they will remain moments to remember

Like a fireplace flickering with ember

For life brings us to a point that is true

When memories can never replace you
