Backstage was the name of the red last night,
At Capella, the stars were all in one line of sight.
What felt like a dream, so it seems to me,
I could only have cried in glee .
For where in the world would you feel so fine,
The delightful Vietnamess cuisine, and wine?
With all my loved ones in tow that night,
My heart was full with the guiding light.
Spring rolls, bún chả, and curry with spice
Satiated our appetites — oh, so nice.
The flavors and spices, in our time, took flight,
As if they were battling for taste’s delight.
Which was the fairest? We could not decide,
For none were lacking — none could hide.
Not one dish stood small, nor shy of might —
Each one a treasure, a true delight.
Pinch me now from this dream so deep,
To awaken my senses from joy’s sweet sleep.
The Lord in His grandeur has blessed us with grace,
An immaculate blend of kindness and space.
My brother’s loving family, my friends Mel and Mike and Nanny Vivian, true.
They’ll attest to the beauty and divinity too,
To a night so rare, so richly true.
Bill Bensley has made it again this time —
Cheers — let’s have that wine
